FACTS ABOUT FIRES IN MANHATTAN
Manhattan is a very unusual place in regards to fire. When you think of
Manhattan, you think of tall office buildings. Many people are unaware
of how many residents actually live in the city. Approximately 350 or
more families were affected last year. The city is extremely congested
and has more apartment buildings than it has space. A fire in the city
has more affect on multiple families due to the housing developments
layout and the street congestion for fire response.
The way that Manhattan is laid out, a fire in Downtown means that it
may be about 8 stories up and the trucks can only reach the 5th floor.
When a fire hits Manhattan, chances are that more than one family will
be affected. Just as the Bronx, Manhattan has averaged one fire each
day for 2010.
SILVER LINING OUTREACH urges families to pay more attention to
details during the coming winter months. FIRE does not take a summer
vacation or a winter break. We do not either. Through
"THE F.I.R.E CLASS" you can get the vital information regarding
insurance that so many families neglect to have.
